Ephesians 3:1-12

Sermon Topics

  1. A Mystery Revealed (Vs. 1-6)
    • The Greek word “Musterion” in the NT means “A previously hidden truth not knowable by human means, revealed by God in His perfect timing.”
    • What was used to describe the unity between the Jews and Gentiles?
    • They Become Fellow Heirs of God’s Inheritance
    • The ethnic divide is eliminated. All equally share Christ’s inheritance for the saints.
    • Gentile Believers are Members of the Same Body of Christ.
    • Gentiles Partake of the Same Promise Given to the Jews
    • Paul’s point is that great previously unrevealed truth of God is that ALL believers together make up Christ’s body regardless of race or ethnicity.
  2. We See a Ministry Received (Vs. 7-12)
    • Your missional responsibility began at your conversion when you said “Yes” to Jesus.
    • You may not have realized you were given missional responsibilities at your conversion, but that does not mean it did not happen.
    • “Your on-mission lifestyle is not primarily defined by geography, but by your commitment to engage people with the Gospel.” – Jeff Lorg
    • The major distinguishing mark of the early church was its intense love for one another; love that flowed beyond ethnic, racial, and socio-economic boundaries.
    • Kneeling precedes going, prayer precedes doing.
