Hebrews 10:32-37

Sermon TopicsLongsuffering is composed of two words:

  • “Makro” meaning “Long, Distant, or Far off.”
  • “Thumia” meaning “Temper, Passion, or Emotion.”

Introduction:

God’s TIMING is more important than Time itself.

  • Why Does God Delay His Answers?
    • Development Factor (James 1:3-4)
    • Diligence Factor (Hebrews 11:6)
      • Our Prayers are easily offered and soon forgotten – no wonder we do not inherit the promise.
    • Devotional Factor
  1. There is Something to Remember: Yesterday’s Provision (Hebrews 10:32-34)
    • There is not ANYTHING you need once you realize you have EVERYTHING in Jesus Christ.
  2. Resolve Today’s Patience (Hebrews 11:35-36)
    • Many fail because we fail to Endure.
    • It is patience that is the bridge between doing the will of God and receiving the promises of God. (Hebrews 11:36)
    • Many of us are good at reciting the promises of God without obeying the Commandments of God. (Psalm 37:1-3)
  3. Rest in Tomorrow’s Promise (Hebrews 11:37)
    • Habakkuk was perplexed and could not understand, but he learned what he could not understand. He could simply stand UNDER.
