Introduction: (Matthew 5:3-11)

  1. How to Live From the Inside Out (Matthew 5:3)
    • He is dealing with the inside. That does not mean that there is no commitment to the outside. But when the inside is right, the outside is right. (Matthew 5:4, 7, 8, 9)
    • The result of being merciful, pure in heart, and peacemaking is that you are reviled, persecuted, and falsely accused. (Matthew 5:12)
  2. How to Enter the Kingdom from the Inside Out
    • Poverty of Spirit is the foundation of all graces, yet so much of our Modern Christianity feeds on pride. (Psalm 37:25)
    • A Poor-in-Spirit individual is one with NO sense of Self-Sufficiency. (Luke 18:9, 14)
  3. How the Humble Become Useful to God (Genesis 32:29; Judges 6:15, 12; Luke 5:8)
    • The only resource for living is for those who know they cannot do it. (Matthew 5:3)
    • The Kingdom, as I see it, is Grace and Glory. Grace now; Glory later.
  4. How to Become Poor in Spirit
    • Do NOT Begin by Trying to Do It for Yourself
    • Starve the Flesh
    • Simply, “Ask” (Luke 18:13)
